Reading

This week we are learning about comparing and contrasting. We read a book of instructiuons about camoping ion the bush. We had to write how to make something and then how to do something. I found it easy to wrtie how to make something. I found it tricky to find soace in my brain ti focus.

Zombie Apocalypse

 This week we are learning about a zombie apocalypse and how to survive. I found it challening to think of the right thing to say. I found it easy to write the ideas.

My Speech

 This week we are learning about why Mr Wolf is or not guilty of murder. I found it challenging to get up and say my speech in front of the class because I was really nervous and I thought people would laugh at me. They didn't. I was relieved when I had finished.

I found it easy to write my speech down.

My Beatitude Poster

This week we are learning about the Beatitudes because it is Social Justice Week. You can read the Beatitudes in the Bible.  You can alos read them here.

i found it challening to write the words on my slide. 

I enjoyed working with my friend Olivia but we talked a bit too much.

Next time I would have the words that I want to write in my head.

 This week we are learning about stop motion. I found it challanging to get the background right. I found it easy to do the pictures. if you have not done a stop motion before you should give it a go and maybe it will help you get started and i hope you enjoy.

 This week we are learning about robots i created a robot. I found it challening to design my robot i found it easy to make my slide.

Charlotte Dujardin Report

 For writing we are learning to paragraph. We had to stick to one topic in each paragraph. The first sentence is a topic sentence then we added 2-3 supporting details. The last sentence is a concluding sentence. I found it easy to search the web for facts. I found it tricky to write it down so Leyla helped me.

Here is my report.

Charlotte Dujardin is a show jumper. 

She was born in Britain. 

The day she was born was the 13th of July 1985. She is currently 36 years old.

She has won six medals all together. The year she got these medals was 2012. She has three gold medals, one silver, and two bronze. She was born in Britain. 

Charlotte Dujardin also does dressage and cross-country riding. Her parents are Ian Dujardin, and Jane Dujardin. She also has written books and gotten them published. Here are the titles: The Girl on the Dancing Horse: Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro. 

Her first dressage horse was named Fernandez, who she bought as a 3-year-old. She gained her love for dressage at the age of sixteen, and was winning competitions such as Horse of the Year Show, and Hickstead.

This week we are learning about NZ native trees and this is my one Ngaio, it is a mosquito and bug repellent. You rub the leaves on your skin to stop them biting you. it has red berries and can grow up to 10 metres tall.

Japan

This week for reading we have been learning to skim and scan. That means we do quick reading.

We were learning about Japan because that is where the Olympics are. I was away so I didn't have time to finish all my slides.

This week we are learning to add to our Gamefroot.

My Gamefroot

For the past two or three weeks we learning to make a Gamefroot. So far I have coded the character move right, left, up. It doesn't go down yet - that's what I am working on now. I've also put in a background of the night sky and a boundary so my character doesn't fall through or go too wide. That's called a void when it falls through.

My June Reflection

This week we are learning to do a June Reflection because it's close to the end of the month. I enjoy sharing my reflection with my friends. This time I enjoyed writing comments about them.

financial literacy

 This week a man from ASB came to room 1 his name was callum he came to room 1 to teach how to use money wisely. I found it challenging to actually figure out how much weeks it will  take just to get up to $100. I found it easy to write them figure out stuff. I found it interesting to learn how you can save money.  My digital learning objects shows that i can take a photo and post it on my blog. Next time I will try to save up way more money. sorry i was not here for the second day.

Maths

This week we are learning to measure. We had to measure how tall we are, our armspan, the circumference of our wrist and our popliteal length, and the circumference of our neck. Do you know what a popliteal length is?

Perseus

 This week for Reading we are learning to infer. Inferring is when the author doesn't tell you something but leaves clues. We had to infer what type of character Perseus was and then give evidence from the story. I found it hard because I had no idea what to write. It helped when I got together with my group and my teacher and we discussed it. We helped each other a character description.

Why is horse manure good for plants?

This week we are doing explanation writing. My learning Intention was to use a diagram. Diagrams help the reader understand what you are explaining. I had to label my diagram and explain my diagram. I found it tricky and forgot to draw my diagram. Next time I will draw my diagram first so I don't forget.

My Sprite

This week we are learning to make a Sprite on Piskel. I found it challenging to make the Sprite because I found it really hard to make the hair and the tail. There was a lot I needed to add to it. I really enjoyed it because I found it fun. It was better than my normal drawings and easier. Next time I would maybe do a cat or a bunny because they are both very cute.

Time Connectives

This week we are learning to use time connectives in writing. Time connectives help the reader to understand what is happening because everything is in order. I found it challenging to how to use first of all and after that later on. I forgot to use then in my writing. ZSo then I went back and put them all in. 

Have you ever used time connectives before?
